Mahreen Haq
M.Sc., M.A., Registered Psychotherapist
I am a Psychometrist and Registered Psychotherapist specializing in psychological and psychoeducational assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. I provide comprehensive evaluations to explore cognitive, academic, emotional, behavioural, and social functioning, helping to identify factors that may be contributing to difficulties at school, work, home, or in relationships. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized, with the goal of ensuring that clients feel heard, respected, and supported throughout the assessment process.
My areas of practice include ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disorders, executive functioning difficulties, anxiety, and related mental health concerns. I recognize that many individuals seek assessment after years of questioning why certain experiences have felt more challenging than expected, and I am particularly interested in supporting adolescents and adults who are exploring the possibility of neurodivergence later in life. Rather than focusing solely on diagnosis, I view assessment as an opportunity to identify patterns, clarify strengths and challenges, and develop practical recommendations that can support success across settings.
I am committed to a neurodiversity - affirming approach that recognizes neurological differences as natural variations in human development rather than deficits to be fixed. My goal is to help clients better understand how their minds work, while identifying strategies, accommodations, and supports that align with their individual needs and goals. I hold two master's degrees in psychology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and St Mary's University, London. My training in both psychological assessment and psychotherapy allows me to integrate evidence-based evaluation with a thoughtful understanding of the emotional and personal impact that the assessment process can have on individuals and families.
