Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Tarni Kaur is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who offers culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming care. She supports adults and adolescents with emotional wellbeing, life transitions, and self-exploration. Her clients often come to therapy seeking clarity, regulation, and a deeper sense of belonging.
Her approach is integrative and person-centered, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic practices. Tarni works collaboratively with clients to support emotional regulation and meaningful change, especially for those exploring high-functioning anxiety, mood disturbances, identity, and intergenerational patterns.
With lived experience and clinical training, Tarni holds a deep respect for how cultural and family systems shape emotional wellbeing. She has a thoughtful understanding of the experiences of first- and second-generation immigrants and racialized individuals. Her work often supports clients navigating trauma, neurodivergence, mood-related challenges, and the ways these intersect with identity, family dynamics, and cultural expectations. Her practice invites clients to examine inherited beliefs, reconnect with their inner voice, and cultivate a sense of safety within themselves.
Tarni has also worked in educational and clinical settings supporting neurodiverse individuals and youth with diverse learning and developmental needs. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Asian Studies.
